A fundraiser for the Ashland Rotary and Ashland’s Vaughn Public Library, these point to point races are run on the last legs of the marathon course. That means the same great running surface, beautiful fall colors and exciting finish line. Run or walk the 5k with a friend, spouse, partner, kids or grandkids and find out how much fun it is to participate in a major event! And you’ll be finished in time to watch your friends and family finish the longer distance events.
Cruisin’ The Corridor 10k/5k Run/Walk is a fun event held in conjunction with the WhistleStop Marathon. Rotarian Randy Knapp (Race Director) invites you to northern Wisconsin’s beautiful Lake Superior with fall colors aligning the trail and the excitement of participating in a run/walk which has over 600 participants from serious runners competing in the race to friends and family having fun on the course together.
The Vaughn Library and Ashland Rotary Club split the proceeds to support library needs and many community service activities in the Ashland and Bayfield County area. The event is made possible with donations and volunteers donating their time. “We especially want to thank the major sponsors and the many people who volunteer on race day” says Mike Sherry, president of the Ashland Rotary Club. “Without them, the popularity and success of this event would be evident.” The major sponsors making this year’s event possible include Ashland Audiology, BMO Harris Bank, Lakeview Dental, Midland Services, Moore’s Army Navy, Northern State Bank, and Ringenberg Financial Group.
The $40 registration is the same as last year and participants receive a nice long-sleeve tech shirt sporting our race logo. There will be great post-race camaraderie and food for running participants with the Breakwater’s very popular wild rice soup plus fruit, donuts, and bagels. Trophies this year are made by local artist Sara Balbin from Cable and custom age class medals will be given to the top 3 winners in each age division.
Help support the Vaugh Library and the Ashland Rotary Club community service by registering to participate in this year’s race.
