NEW in 2011 Timing Technology Leaps Forward
This year the CenturyLink WhistleStop Marathon & Half Marathon participants will experience a streamlined timing setup.
New, this fall, runners will find their timing tag already in their race packet. Having the timing tag already attached to your bib, means riders will no longer be issued a separate timing transponder with an ankle strap. The new timing tag system will offer time and space savings at race packet pickup. Once you check in and receive your number envelope, you can grab your race bag and depart the packet pickup area to explore other festivities. As you exit, you still have the option of swiping the bib packet at a bib-check station, to confirm that you received the correct race number. Bottom line, this year there will be no need to fumble with finding the separate timing transponder at bib pick up or race morning.
On race day the advantages of the new system continue. Your timing tag stays with you, it need not be returned. No more race morning scramble for the misplaced ankle transponder. No more cost of replacement if the transponder is lost. The new system will enhance your post race exit from the finish line chute. The exit will be quicker with a smoother flow of runners, as you do not need to stop, remove and return an ankle worn timing transponder.
Recent technology has made timing tags smaller, and in this case, the timing process less intrusive. CenturyLink WhistleStop and White River Sports Timing welcomes racers to the latest development in silent sports timing.
Remember, immediately after your finish, you will still have the opportunity to check your time at the White River Sports Timing trailer. Your bib number will be required for a timing slip print out. For complete race results consult the www.itiming.com shortly after completion of the day’s events.
