2022 WhistleStop

Dear Racers

We are so excited to offer the Memorial Medical Center WhistleStop Marathon and Half-Marathon & Cruisin’ the Corridor 5K/10K IN PERSON AGAIN this year!
This year we will continue to cap our races, so if you are interested REGISTER NOW, don’t delay.  400 Full Marathon and 1400 Half-Marathon, 250 5K and 250 10K

Since Covid -19 is still lingering we are still not at 100% with our event.

There are several factors involved that led us to make these difficult decisions for this year’s Memorial Medical Center WhistleStop Marathon and Half Marathon & Cruisin’ the Corridor 5K/10K.

We will be capping all the races this year so Register Early!! It saves you money and it saves you any stress about not having a spot.

Packet Pick-Up for the Full, Half-Marathon, 5K & 10K will be held at the Bretting Community Center, located just west of the Bay Area Civic Center.

At this time there will be NO Pasta Feed this year, however, many of our restaurants will offer a carbo-loaded entrée Friday for runners!! And, this is Wisconsin… We have multiple drinking establishments to quench your thirst and calm your nerves before the big race – most are located on Main Street.

Awards will take place at a location to be announced closer to race day. Event guidance and/or requirements will be in line with local and state coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines. We recognize guidance is likely to change between now and the 2022 race. We will provide specific guidelines to registered participants in the lead up to race weekend.

Buses will run this year to all of the races.

The Brews and Blues Fest at this time is undetermined. However you’ll find several fun places on Main Street that offer live music or DJ – We will provide you with a list of eating and entertainment establishments for after the race!! We are fortunate that Ashland is a small town, and our Main Street is located just one block from the finishline. We are encouraging everyone to celebrate on Main Street after the race!!

Reminder: We will be capping all the races this year so Register Early!! It saves you money and it saves you any stress about not having a spot.
Also since we will be capping the 2022 Memorial Medical Center WhistleStop Marathon & Half-Marathon and Cruisin’ the Corridor 5K/10K, please share this registration link with your friends and family and encourage them to register NOW! We don’t want them to wait and miss out on running with you!

We are also offering a virtual option this year.  Virtual option for the full and half-marathon.

Note: We do not allow walking the full marathon. You are welcome to walk the half marathon.  All, Medical Personnel and Aid Stations are pulled from the course at 6 hours or 3pm, so there is no support on the course. You must be able to run a consistent 13-minute mile for the Full Marathon. Thanks so much for your understanding and cooperation!!

COVID 19 procedures for 2022
Masks & Face Coverings – Event guidance and/or requirements will be in line with local and state coronavirus (COVID-19) guidelines. We recognize guidance is likely to change between now and the 2022 race. For this reason, we will provide specific guidelines to registered participants in the lead up to race weekend.

No refund policy:
The status of the 2022 MMC WhistleStop weekend is subject to change at any time. We realize that the COVID-19 pandemic is still lingering, and we will continue to monitor all updates from the Wisconsin Department of Health and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control). If the status of the event changes, we will notify participants via email as soon as possible.

If COVID-19 conditions don’t improve and the in-person marathon/half-marathon weekend races are canceled, registrations for those who registered for the in-person races will automatically be converted to the virtual races, and details for reporting finishing times will be emailed to participants. If at that time you choose not to participate in the virtual, we will refund you 50% of your race registration fee. We will NOT defer registrants to 2023.

See you in October!
