Here are some activities happening in the area race weekend.
The Knights of Columbus are taking over the WhistleStop Pasta Feed as a fundraiser!!! 4:30-8PM. This Pasta Feed is not just for our race participants, it’s also your family and friends and anyone else who would like to come down to the tent and see what it’s all about! WhistleStop Full and Half-Marathon registrants will receive a $3 off discount coupon for the Knights of Columbus Pasta Feed, coupons will be in your racer packets. The Knights of Columbus Pasta Feed is ready to meet your night-before-the-race food-wise needs, leaving you satisfied, nourished and relaxed. Enjoyable conversation will be one of the highlights of your Pasta Feed experience as you take advantage of this opportunity the night before the race to talk over marathon stories and shop the WhistleStop merchandise. Dinner & Conversational Music Performed by area musician “Russ Darwin” from 4:30-7PM.
Loose Caboose Kids Race, at 5:30pm in the Central Railyard Park, behind the Bretting Community Center, around the ballfields for kids ages 2 – 12 yrs. Participants will receive a t-shirt and finisher memorabilia. Pre-race registration starting at 5pm. 715-682-7059.
Blues & Brews Fest -6-8 PM. Listen to the blues music of “MilkBone” while sampling scores of microbrews (must be 21 years of age or older to attend this event). Then following MilkBone, The WhiteCaps take center stage. Pre-purchased tickets for the Blues and Brews Fest are $10 with the brew sampling and $15 at the door. $5 without brew sampling and $10 at the door.
Then following MilkBone, The WhiteCaps take center stage, 8:30-11PM . (must be 21 years of age or older to attend this event)
Concessions with great food and drink will be available all night long, featuring the brews of Ashland’s own South Shore Brewery.
