Privacy Policy for the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce
The purpose of the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce is to promote tourism in the Ashland area of northwest Wisconsin. We promote tourism through advertising, distribution of travel information, a tourism web site, promotions, chamber membership and community activities. All information gathered by the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce is used for these purposes.
Information:
We typically gather information for a number of purposes, including:
• Addresses/email to fulfill requests for travel information
• Registrations for Chamber sponsored events
• Email addresses for Chamber information sent via email
• Chamber membership information
• Listing information for chamber publications
This information is used to contact individuals and businesses who may be interested in Chamber events, community activities or to distribute tourism related information that has been requested by the end user. Through these lists we may send information specifically requested, solicit volunteers for events or update you on community/chamber activities.
Use of Information:
Information collected is used solely for Chamber purposes and not resold or distributed to any third party interests. Chamber membership information is shared with other Chamber members only. No other type of personal information is shared or distributed. Information is used for in-house purposes only. No event or membership information which is collected is stored on-line or is it accessible via the internet. Email lists for newsletter mailings are stored on-line within a secure (password protected) database. This information includes name and email address.
The Chamber may also tabulate statistics on emails sent out to its email lists. That information would include whether the email was opened and/or whether any of the links contained within the newsletter have been used. No personally identifiable information is collected for this purpose. The information collected is used solely to evaluate the effectiveness of our communications with the mail lists.
Opt In – Opt Out
We adhere to an opt-in process for all of our mailing lists. You must request to be added to a mailing list, or apply for chamber membership or be a participant in a Chamber sponsored event. At any point in time you may request to have your name and any personal information associated with your name to be removed from any and all Chamber mailing lists. Each email sent to our mailing lists includes a link to allow you to remove your address from the mailing list. If you wish to remove your personal information from lists associated with membership or Chamber sponsored events, please contact our office directly. Your request will be promptly fulfilled.
